Essential footpath repair works on Malvern's Worcestershire Beacon

Malvern Editorial 19th Mar, 2024   0

A POPULAR walking route up to the Worcestershire Beacon in Malvern will be disrupted for a couple of days due to pathway repair works.

Malvern Hills Trust have announced there may be some reduction in access to the path on March 20 and 21, whilst contractors carry out repair works on the eastern side of the summit of the beacon.

Work vehicles will be using the track to access the site on both days, with visitors urged to take advice of present signage whilst following any instructions given by contractors for their own safety.

A Malvern Hills Trust spokesperson said: “We apologise for any inconvenience.”

In recent years this part of the route has become eroded making access more difficult for visitors.

This particular route is surfaced from the Wyche Cutting up Beacon Road, to almost the very top of the highest point on the Malverns.

Repairs will enable better access to the Worcestershire Beacon, particularly for cyclists and those using mobility scooters.
