Excitement as Malvern Cube expansion begins

Malvern Editorial 6th Nov, 2015 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016   0

WORK is underway to expand Malvern Cube in a move which will allow more services and clubs to use the centre.

Situated at Albert Road North, the popular community centre is to extend with an additional building adjoining the existing premises.

The new building will have two distinct sections – a larger meeting space for bigger groups, and a smaller more private area for smaller or one-to-one meetings.

Completion of the building is to take place within the next few weeks with Cube bosses expecting it to be up and running almost immediately.

Malvern Cube was established in 2012 and since has been a huge success with many clubs and organisations using it as a place to hold meetings and run sessions of different interests. It also hosts concerts and plays throughout the year.

The Cube’s expansion comes just months after it was announced Worcestershire County Council’s Connect service would be moving into Malvern Cube in the new year.

Jill Terry, chairman of the Malvern Cube Trustees said: “After three successful years, the trustees of Malvern Cube are delighted to be in a position of expanding the provision for the community.

“Some people were sceptical when we first launched but the past few years have been a big success.

“This expansion is part of a programme of improvements which we know will be welcome by those who use Malvern Cube.

“The Cube has amazing potential for the future and although change can be unsettling, the staff, volunteers, trustees and supporters of the Cube are all working hard to to make these changes happen as quickly and efficiently as possible so that everyone can benefit and the Cube will beat at the heart of the community for many years to come.”

Bosses at the centre say any disruption will be kept to a minimum.
