Family Day at Malvern Town FC to raise awareness of pregnancy condition

MALVERN residents are being invited to family fun day to raise awareness of a pregnancy-related condition. Shelley Starke and her daughter Emily Tranter are hosting the fund-raising event this Sunday (August 21) at Malvern Town FC’s HDanywhere Community Stadium, for the ‘Little Heartbeats’ Preterm Prelabour Rupture Of Membranes (PPROM) awareness.

Ms Tranter has chosen to raise funds for PPROM, a condition where a woman’s waters break prior to 37 weeks during pregnancy which can lead to infection being passed from mother to baby, after she lost her son through the condition.

Visitors can explore and enjoy face painting, waxing, cake and sweet stalls, bric-a-brac, a bouncy castle, hot food, a tombola and a ‘beat the goalie’ competition.

Ms Tranter said: “Little Heartbeats are campaigning to help women all over the world who are going through difficult times. We’ve organised the event to help raise awareness and funds for something very close to our hearts, after loosing my little boy under the same circumstances.”

The event will run from midday to 5pm. Visit www.little-heartbeats.org.uk for more information.
