Family fun as Xplorer challenge makes return to Malvern

Malvern Editorial 6th Dec, 2017   0

THE POPULAR family navigation Xplorer challenge is back in Malvern with a fun festive theme.

Xplorer are British Orienteering Approved events organised by Freedom Leisure in partnership with Malvern Hills District Council, Action for Children and Fortis Living for Great Malvern.

And the free orienteering event takes place in Priory Park next Saturday from 10am to 12:30pm.

The challenge gives families an opportunity to learn how to read maps, keep active and encourage decision making and team working skills.

No booking is required and all participants will be awarded a certificate and voucher to enjoy a discounted drink at Malvern Splash after completion of the course.

In addition to the Xplorer event, a host of Christmas activities, arts and crafts will be taking place in the Council Chamber located next to Priory Park from 10am.

Active communities officer Adele Hodges said: “We are so excited to be delivering this fun event once again and delighted to offer it for free as we understand budgets can be tight at Christmas time.

“The event is a fantastic way to access the wider benefits of physical activity, being social, improving your mind and mood, and enjoying the fresh air.

“We hope that this event provides an opportunity for all.”

For more information about the event contact Adele on [email protected] or visit www.xplorer.org.uk.
