MALVERN residents have been encouraged to stand for elections and represent their area.
The local, parish and town council elections for Malvern Hills District Council (MHDC) are held every four years and there are plenty of seats up for grabs for budding new candidates.
This year the elections take place on the May 7 – the district elections have 38 seats available across 22 wards. As well as this there will also be 408 seats up for grabs in the town and parish council elections, representing 51 towns and parishes across the district.
Jack Hegarty, MHDC’s chief executive, said: “We welcome anyone who may be interested in standing as a candidate for the district, parish or town council.
“The role of a councillor is a very enjoyable and rewarding experience, and you can really make a difference within your community by supporting local residents and improving local areas, it’s a fantastic opportunity.”
