Fearless fund-raisers take on ultra-marathon in aid of Malvern Special Families

TWO dedicated fund-raisers are taking on one of the UK’s toughest ultra-marathon challenge for a town charity which supports families who have children with disabilities.

Briony Mills and Kerrin Fearns wanted to do something spectacular to fund-raise for Malvern Special Families and the pair will race along Britain’s most ancient pathway, setting off from the Chilterns on Saturday and ending at the Avebury Stones within 24 hours.

Last year the fund-raising duo walked the entire length of the Severn Way, more than 200 miles from Plynlimon to Bristol, in aid of MSF.

This year they decided to step up their challenge by running an ultra-marathon for the charity.

Kerrin said: “We picked ‘Race to the Stones’ as an endurance challenge.

“We have to complete the 100km in 24hrs so it is a step up from our previous challenges.

“We chose to fund-raise for Malvern Special Families because they provide an irreplaceable service for our family, so it’s very close to our hearts and nice to see in very real terms where the money goes.”

Cassie Zoro, community fund-raiser at MSF, added: “Kerrin and Briony are an inspiration.

“They have set themselves an incredibly tough challenge and we wish them all the best.

“We would encourage everyone to donate to help keep them motivated every step of the way of this gruelling ultra-marathon endurance test.”
