THE FESTIVE adventure ‘The Box of Delights’ will be staged by The Colwall Players later this month.
The play by Piers Torday, based on the classic story by John Masefield, and centres on Kay Harker who is heading home for the school holidays.
Recently orphaned, he knows Christmas will be different this year but nothing could prepare him for the journey in front of him.
On the train Cole meets magician Cole Hawlings, who tasks him with safeguarding a wondrous time travelling device but Cole’s nemesis, the wicked sorcerer Abner Brown, desperately wants to steal it.
The old man mysteriously disappears and Kay faces the fight of his life to protect the Box of Delights and the people he loves.
The future of Christmas itself depends upon him.
Performances of the show, which are suitable for those aged seven and over, take place at Colwall Village Hall at 7pm on December 16, 17 and 19 with 2pm matinees on December 17 and 18.
