RESIDENTS will have the chance to get into the festive spirit with lantern making or find the perfect gift in Great Malvern on Saturday.

Malvern Arts and Food Market will be taking place in the grounds of the Great Malvern Priory from 9am to 5pm.

More than 40 stalls will be showcasing the work of new artists as well as a wide range of fresh food, drinks and crafts from producers in the area.

From ceramics, jewellery and photography to artisan food, textiles and woodwork, it provides residents the chance to get a start on their Christmas shopping.

The market is now in its 12th year and is one of the longest running markets of its kind in the area, provided by Boffy Arts Markets and supported by Malvern Hills District Council.

A Lantern Making Workshop will be held in The Lyttelton Well on the same day from 11am to 1pm.

People of all ages and abilities are welcome to get creative and make a lantern ready for the parade on November 24 to celebrate the Great Malvern Christmas Light Switch On.

Hundreds of people will be parading up Church Street, lighting the way with their lanterns.

Resources and tuition will be provided but there will be a small charge if a light is required.
