FLOOD UPDATE - The latest on the water levels in Tenbury, Upton and Malvern

SOME of the roads in Tenbury Wells and Upton-upon-Severn which were shut this morning due to flooding are now open.

Worcestershire Highways was forced to close roads and bridges across the county following a day of torrential rain yesterday.

There is lots of water around Powick Roundabout but the A449 is still open – two-way traffic is operating on the eastern side with long delays from Malvern.

Tenbury Bridge and Teme Street reopen as the River Teme continues to fall

Market Street in Tenbury has reopened.

Motorists are being warned to take care as it is difficult to gauge how deep floodwater is before driving through it.




Vehicles and drivers can become stranded and floodwater can do severe damage to vehicles.

Advice to drivers

Worcestershire Highways has issued the following advice –


  • Please avoid travelling where possible
  • Do not enter flood water
  • Do not drive through flooded roads or through fords
