A FLOOD alert has been issued for the Lower Teme and Severn rivers through large sections of the Malvern Hills.
The warning has been issued by the government’s Environment Agency as the Met office has published a yellow weather warning for rain, covering all of the West Midlands and Worcestershire.
The Lower Teme river runs through Alfrick Pound into Longley Green, Suckley and Grittlesend in the north of the hills before traveling south down to Cradley, Mathon and Colwall.
While parts of the River Severn are at risk through Severn Stoke, Kempsey, Powick, Hanley and Upton-upon-Severn.

Met Office forecasters predict fast-flowing or deep floodwater which could impact on homes and businesses.
Roads will be cut off and there could be disruption – delays and cancellations – to bus and rail services.
Spray and flooding will lead to difficult driving conditions, road closures and possible power cuts.

The Met Office forecasts rain easing from 1pm in Worcestershire and it is predicted to stay mainly dry up until around 8pm when light rain will soon turn heavy and continue until the early hours.
That is due to stop around 3am.
