FORCEFUL rogue traders have been operating in Kempsey today (Wednesday, March 20) prompting a warning from police.
The fraudulent traders were cold calling homes on Elgar Drive, offering to jet wash driveways, before attempting to charge lots of money for services and being quite forceful according to West Mercia Police.
Kempsey and Alfrick Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) have been responding to reports of the cold callers and have offered advice to avoid these scams.
Advice includes never buying goods or services from doorstep traders or even answering the door to them in the first place. Never let strangers into your home and consider putting a warning card letting cold callers you refuse to purchase from them.
Always check ID of anyone requesting to carry out works at your home and make a note of vehicle registrations and business names if you receive a cold call.
