A ‘DEDICATED’ former Malvern Hills District Council chairman has died at the age of 74.

Coun Gill Farmer had been a councillor for more than 20 years and was chairman in 2004. She passed away on Thursday (October 1).

Coun Farmer, who represented Teme Valley Ward on MHDC, had a keen interest in planning, enjoyed painting and was married to former district councillor Reg Farmer.

Coun Phil Grove, leader of the council, said: “Gill was a close friend, dedicated and conscientious in all she did to represent all residents within her ward.

“She will be sadly missed by all her friends, work colleagues and those she served.

“Our thoughts and condolences are with her family at this sad time.”
