THREE former members of the prestigious Malvern Girls Brigade were presented with their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award at Buckingham Palace.
The ceremony was presided over by the new Duke of Edinburgh Prince Edward and was his first DofE event since taking over.
Tuppence Shaw-Young, Harriet Mobbs and Eleanor King all completed their Gold award in 2020 but due to the backlog of Covid awardees they were only able to attend last month.
With a host of guest speakers, two Royal Marine Bands and access to the grounds, the afternoon was a great success.
The Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme is run in over 140 countries worldwide with the Gold being the final and toughest part of the Bronze, Silver, Gold award programme.
The girls, who are all now studying in Bath, Swansea and Switzerland, said they felt a great sense of achievement and that to come to the palace was a great honour.
