FAMILIES can walk a mile with their child for free thanks to the launch of a new programme.
Footsteps is a new scheme organised by Malvern Hills District Council in partnership with Upton-upon-Severn Primary School and Riverboat’s Children Centre.
The programme starts on Monday, November 6, from Riverboat’s Children’s Centre at 1.30pm.
Footsteps is a gentle stroll around Upton’s school field for parents and children aged four and under.
Its aim is to improve fitness and give the opportunity to meet and socialise with other parents.
Coun David Watkins, portfolio holder for healthier communities on Malvern Hills District Council, said: “This new programme is a great way for parents and young children to keep active in a welcoming and friendly environment, whilst also getting out and about in the fresh air.
“We look forward to seeing lots of families getting involved.”
No booking is necessary and free refreshments will be provided.
