FREE monthly sessions aimed at helping dads, grandads and male guardians and carers build bonds with their children and make new friends have received a £500 funding boost, writes Sophie Wheeler.
The cash has been provided by Malvern Hills District Councillor Chris Reed, who represents Dyson Perrins, from his ward budget.
The sessions at Sport Dyson Perrins are organised by Action for Children with Freedom Leisure and incorporate activities to help youngsters improve their balance, co-ordination and build friendships.
Coun Reed said: “SaturDads gives an opportunity for dads to spend some quality, active time with their little ones and meet other dads in a friendly setting.”
Jane Marshall, Action for Children’s community development worker, said they wanted to thank Coun Reed for supporting SaturDads.
“It will enable the group to buy some new equipment and continue to offer further sessions.”
The monthly sessions are held from 3pm till 3.45pm and start on March 9, running until October 12.
