MALVERN residents are being urged to get into the Christmas spirit as a new campaign is launched in the district boasting festive feasts, merry markets and more.
Christmas Comes to Town, launched by Malvern Hills District Council, takes place from November until Christmas Day, across all five town centres in the district.
The campaign has been created as part of the council’s new Town Centre Plans to support local town centres and businesses.
Town centres involved include Great Malvern, Barnards Green, Malvern Link, Tenbury Wells and Upton-upon-Severn.
The campaign will shine a light on fun, family activities and free Christmas events across the town centres, including Christmas markets and events, shopping guides, festive food and drink guides and Christmas parades.
There will also be free parking between 3pm and 11pm from December 1 to 31 and a free family elf-themed festive trail.
Coun Daniel Walton, Malvern Hills District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Tourism and Economic Development, said: “We are really looking forward to supporting our local traders during the festive season with this great new campaign.
“Our town centres have everything needed to get families into the spirit of Christmas, and we would encourage everyone to continue to support our local businesses by shopping locally and taking advantage of the free family entertainment on offer.”
The campaign will run on Malvern Hills District Council’s social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) and in the local news.
There will also be blogs with further information on the Visit the Malverns website.
