AWARD-winning Fret and Fiddle will be the next band to take to the stage as part of the Malvern Jazz, Blues and Swing Club.
Doors open at The Cube, Malvern, at 7pm on Sunday, March 6, with the performance from 8pm to 10.30pm (including an interval).
Founders Sally and Andy formed the band in 2001 after discovering they both had mutual enthusiasm for ‘Hot Club de France’ – made up of guitarist Django Reinhardt and violinist Stephane Grappelli.
Now a quintet, they evoke the early Hot Club days from the swinging Parisian night clubs of the 1920s.
The band is billed as offering ‘that special something that is just that little bit different, quirky and imaginative and play swing tunes, gypsy music, klezmer and blues’.
Club treasurer Neil Thwaites added: “We are so thrilled to welcome Fret and Fiddle to the club – they are entertaining, refreshing and highly accomplished musicians.
“We very much look forward to a superb evening of swinging jazz and blues.”
Admission is £10 cash on-the-door.
