Fun for all the family as Applefest returns to Tenbury Wells today

Malvern Editorial 5th Oct, 2019   0

THE POPULAR Tenbury Wells applefest will make a return from 10am to 4.30pm today (Saturday) at the Burgage Recreational Area, writes Sophie Baram.

Everyone is invited to enjoy the wide range of food, drink, entertainment, animals, classic cars and, of course apples.

Over 300 apples, pears and quinces will be on show in the Apple Marquee courtesy of sponsor F P Matthews Ltd.

Apple experts will also be around today to share knowledge on apple varieties and to give advice on caring for an apple tree.

Temevale Alpacas will be available for mini treks and visitors can see the reptiles from Dudley Zoo, get their face painted and enjoy magic by the Medieval Magician.

Additionally Appleteme will be on site teaching people how to press apples into juice to take home, requesting that they bring their own washed apples to use.

Lots of entertainment will run throughout the day, including Tenbury School Choirs, Tenbury Teme Valley Band, Pearl Lake Ukulele Group, Leominster Morris Dancers, Blue Moon and the Bromyard Town Crier.

David Patrick, Chair of Tenbury Applefest Association said, “Applefest is run by a team of volunteers on a non profit basis and once again we are offering a wide variety of displays, activities and entertainment for you to enjoy.

“We are confident that Applefest 2019 will provide a great day out for all the family whatever the weather.”

The admission fee is £4 and accompanied children under 16 go free.
