Fund-raisers to tackle Forest Warrior for Malvern Special Families

Malvern Editorial 16th Apr, 2018   0

A GROUP of fund-raisers will take on a gruelling 12km mud and obstacle course this weekend for a Malvern charity.

The team have been training hard for the Forest Warrior challenge, during which they will have to run through swamps, crawl through tunnels, climb scramble nets and plunge into an icy river.

The event takes place in the Forest of Dean on Sunday and all money raised will go to Malvern Special Families (MSF).

MSF supports more than 175 families by providing clubs and play schemes for children and young people with disabilities aged between five and 19 in ‘out of school’ hours in Malvern and Worcester.

One of the fund-raisers, Kamil Kucharewicz, who works at Harvey’s Hair Salon in Malvern, said: “The support and donations from the salon customers are really keeping us motivated.

“It helps to know when you are out running in the rain that we are are raising money for such a good cause.”

Cassie Zoro, community fund-raiser at MSF, added: “It hasn’t been easy training in this weather but we will have some fun with the challenge on the day and we are hoping to raise over £500.”
