Funding for rural businesses is now available in Malvern

Malvern Editorial 11th Feb, 2024   0

THE NEXT round of funding for rural businesses is now available from the Malvern Rural Fund.

Grants start from £2,500 up to £25,000, which comes from the Government’s Rural England Prosperity Fund and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

The grant aims to support new small businesses in rural areas, including farmers to diversify into growing tourism and other sectors.

Businesses will be expected to match 50 per cent of the total cost of a project for individual grants.

The cash can only be used to fund physical projects and not for day-to-day running costs.

Businesses are required to submit their expressions of interest on the Malvern Hills District Council website by February 23.

On February 26, selected candidates will be asked to develop a comprehensive application by March 15.

Coun Beverley Nielsen, Portfolio Holder for Tourism and Economic Development at Malvern Hills District Council, said: “The third round of funding is now available for rural businesses and communities.

“We are pleased at the variety of projects that have applied over the past two rounds and it would be great to keep that variety and success going.

“The Malvern Hills Rural Fund is a brilliant opportunity to support some wonderful rural projects across the district”.
