THIS YEAR’S Wythall and Hollywood Fun Run is now just over two months and those thinking of taking part are being urged to book their places.

The early bird price offer ends at midnight this Monday, March 30, so runners should get in quick to take advantage of the discount.

On race day, Sunday, June 7, Participants will have the chance to take on the 5K or 10K course and there is also the Families on Track where different family members join forces to run a relay style race.

The fun run is a friendly, welcoming event for everyone, whether they run regularly, are just getting started or want a great day out with family and friends.

This community focused event has something for everyone.

This year also sees the launch of a new 10K route, taking runners through even more beautiful countryside.

All runners start together, creating a great atmosphere and plenty of encouragement. The routes then split, with the 5K staying fairly flat.

The event is supported by world champion and Olympic medallist Steve Cram CBE and the Events of the North team and we are the official media partner.

Mr Cram said: “Wythall and Hollywood Fun Run stands out as an inclusive and uplifting event.

“Its friendly atmosphere and supportive spirit make it ideal for runners of all levels, whether you are just starting your journey or hoping to improve your best time.

“It is exactly the kind of grassroots celebration that shows how enjoyable running can be.”

Anyone who has not run before but fancies giving it a go can start the NHS Couch to 5K programme and graduate at the fun run.

Couch to 5K helps people gradually work up towards running 5km in just nine weeks.

The programme starts with a mix of running and walking to gradually build fitness and stamina.

The Wythall and Hollywood Fun Run is supported by Worcestershire County Council’s Public Health Team.

Coun Satinder Bell, Worcestershire County Council’s cabinet member for health and wellbeing, added the Wythall and Hollywood Fun Run is about much more than taking part in a race.

“It brings people together, strengthens community spirit and inspires healthier ways of living.

“We are grateful to all our partners whose hard work and enthusiasm play such an important role in making this event a success.”

This year, finishers will all be awarded a newly designed metal medal – a distinctive keepsake to celebrate their achievement.
