Get ready for fun at Great Malvern Water Festival

Malvern Editorial 4th May, 2018   0

INFLATABLE rides, live theatre and Maypole dancing form part of the line-up for this year’s Great Malvern Water Festival.

The event returns for a third year on Bank Holiday Monday, promising a day of water-themed fun and frolics within the grounds of Malvern’s Priory Park between 10am and 4pm.

There will be inflatable rides to enjoy such as a surf simulator, hook-a-duck, Sea World bounce ‘n’ slide and jungle run.

Visitors can take a step inside a giant whale where they can enjoy live theatre shows and there will be music from Gersom Engels.

Heidi Wilson and Signature Steps Dance School will be performing traditional Maypole dancing, there will also be a demonstration of water divining by Ced Jackson and a chance to try waster tasting with Malvern Spa Association.

Adventurers can take on the Xplorer Challenge as they hunt for clues around the park and there will be a soft play area for little ones inside Malvern Theatres.

Mayor of Malvern Coun Cynthia Palmer has also volunteered to be plunged into freezing water as part of a re-enactment of the Water Cure treatment, in aid of charity.

The winners of this year’s Well Dressing competition will also be announced.

Coun David Chambers, leader of Malvern Hills District Council, said: “The Great Malvern Waster Festival has proved to be a very popular addition to our events calendar and this year it promises more fun than ever before.”

• Admission is free but there will be a minimum charge for the rides.
