THE COUNTDOWN to Christmas will get under way tomorrow (Saturday) when the Great Malvern lights switch-on takes place.
A full programme of festive fun boasts live music and entertainment, fairground style rides and stalls, circus performances and workshops, storytime with the mayor, a mini-market and a Christmas parade.
The live performances will take place on stages in the Priory Church Grounds, at the bottom of Church Street and along Belle Vue Terrace.
Circus themed workshops will be in both The Coach House Theatre and Solo Circus.
Fairground style rides and stalls, local craft and food stalls, plus much more will also be available.
And there is Santa in his grotto at the Malvern Library.
Great Malvern’s Christmas lights will be turned on at 5.30pm with guest appearances from Mark James, Ellie Dadd and Phillip Arran. This will follow the annual Christmas parade at 5.15pm which will start at the bottom of Church Street. There is no entry fee to the event in general but some elements will attract a charge.

10am – 4pm, Malvern Library: live circus performances, live dance performances, mini market, story time with the Mayor.
11am – 6pm, Belle Vue Island: choirs, live singers, Malvern Hills District Brass Band, Solo Circus show, mini market.
12pm – 4pm, Great Malvern Priory Church: live circus performances.
12pm – 4:30pm, bottom of Church Street stage area: live bands, saxophonist, Malvern Rock Choir.
1pm – 4pm, The Coach House Theatre: live circus performances and workshops.
