AN EVENT aimed to encourage ‘active ageing’ throughout Worcestershire has taken place in Malvern.
To mark national Older People’s Day on Thursday (October 1), the Worcestershire Falls Prevention Group came to the town and delivered the Malvern Hills Older People’s Showcasing event.
The group aims to help seniors live independently, prevent falls and other injuries and enjoy a healthy later life.
There were also events in Worcester and Bromsgrove.
Coun Marcus Hart, Worcestershire County Council’s cabinet member for health and well-being, said: “The ‘active ageing’ campaign is a superb opportunity not only to help those at risk of falls, but also to improve the health of people across Worcestershire.
“The campaign generated awareness of the very serious issues of falls prevention and the information and activities hopefully will help many people to maintain and improve their quality of life.”
