Grove Primary School students help clear Malvern's streets of rubbish

Craig Gibbons 12th Mar, 2018

PUPILS from Malvern’s Grove Primary School have been working hard to help clean up their area.

Last Thursday, students took part in Keep Britain Tidy’s annual Great British Spring Clean, a national campaign to help clear rubbish off the country’s roads and pavements.

‘Eco Warriors’ at the school along with Reception and Year 5 classes cleared the clutter along Pickersleigh Road in a bid to encourage residents to think carefully about disposing their rubbish and to recycle when possible.

Year 4 teacher Miss Matthews, who helped organise the event, said: “I hope it will make children think twice about disposing of their own wrappers and bottles in the future, and that they encourage their families and friends to dispose of litter in a responsible manner.”

The litterpick was carried out in collaboration with Malvern Hills District Council and Fortis Living.
