RESIDENTS across the Malvern Hills district, along with those in the rest of Worcestershire will be heading to the polls on Thursday, May 1.
There will be 57 Worcestershire County Council seats contested across 53 divisions, including eight in Malvern wards.
Polls will be open from 7am to 10pm when all the ballot boxes will be collected.
The count will be held at Bank House Hotel in Bransford from 10am on Friday, May 2, and we at the Observer will be there to bring you all the results live.
The current make-up of Worcestershire County Council – as determined by the 2021 vote and any subsequent by-elections – is 37 Conservative, 5 Green, 5 Labour, 3 Liberal Democrat, and 7 others.
Here are the candidates for the following Malvern wards – Croome, Hallow, Malvern Chase, Malvern Trinity, Malvern Langland, Malvern Link, Powick and Longdon, and Tenbury.
Standing in Croome is Martin Allen (Green Party), Juma Begum (Labour), John Drage (Liberal Democrat), Sarah McDermott (Conservative) and Russ Varley (Reform UK).
There are five candidates contesting Hallow including Mel Fordington (Conservative), Clifford Hobbs (Liberal Democrats), Richard Kimberlee (Green Party), Sebastian Spiers (Reform UK) and Daniel Walton (Labour).
And contesting the seats in the Malvern Chase division is Sebastian Barbour (Conservative), Angel Chawner (Reform UK), Anna Cummins (Labour), Emma Trueman (Liberal Democrats) and Malcom Victory (Green Party).
The candidates for Malvern Langland are Paul Bennett (Liberal Democrats), Simon Johnson (Green Party), Julie Maclusky (Conservative), Beverly Nielsen (Labour) and Jeanette Sheen (Reform UK).
Up next is the Malvern Link ward with Christopher Burrows (Labour), Karen Hanks (Conservative), Chris McSweeney (Liberal Democrats), Andy Peplow (Reform UK), Fran Victory (Green Party) all vying for the seat.
Election candidates in the Malvern Trinity ward include Brian Burdon (Labour), Jamie Cramp (Liberal Democrats), Natalie McVey (Green Party), Michael Savage (Reform UK), Graeme Stubbs (Independent) and Lawrence Watkins (Conservative).
Vying for the seat in Powick and Longdon is Paul Boatright-Greene (Liberal Democrats), Glen Promnitz (Conservative), Johnathan Taylor (Labour), Tom Wells (Independent) and Max Windsor-Peplow (Reform UK).
And lastly, the candidates in Tenbury include Justin Bowen (Reform UK), Carl Fordington (Conservative), Peter Jones (Green Party), Jed Marson (Liberal Democrats) and Adam Scott (Labour).
