PLATFORM Housing Group’s Community Chest supported the annual free Family Fun Day in Malvern on June 21 at the town Football Club’s HDAnywhere Community Stadium, writes Lola Griffin.
South Worcestershire Citizens Advice applied to Platform’s Community Chest, a funding pot for local charities, clubs, and other non-profit organisations for any projects benefiting Platform Customers.
The event, having just celebrated its third year, offered a free afternoon of entertainment and activities, attracting hundreds of local residents and community partners.
The Family Fun Day is designed to tie communities together and promote the variety of support services available locally.
This year’s event included a free bouncy castle area, face painting, sports, art and crafts, games, tombolas, live music and a community choir performance.
Annie Robinson, Chief Executive Officer at South Worcestershire Citizens Advice, said: “The family fun day is all about bringing people together, offering free and affordable fun and showcasing the support available in our community.
Nicholas Richardson, Community Engagement Officer at Platform Housing Group, said: “With an estimated 70 per cent of attendees being Platform customers, events like this offer real value to our communities.”
“We’re proud to have supported it again; it was another brilliant afternoon.”
