How will this and next weeks' rail strikes affect Malvern passengers?

Malvern Editorial 3rd Nov, 2022   0

RAIL Strikes are set to severely impact services to and from Malvern’s stations over the next week.

The National Union of Rail Maritime and Transport (RMT) has announced industrial action affecting Network Rail staff on Saturday, Monday and Wednesday, November 5, 7 and 9.

West Midlands Railway’s RMT members will also take action on Saturday and Wednesday, while TSSA members will strike on Friday, impacting West Midlands Railway and London Northwestern Railway routes.

West Midlands Railway services

There will be no West Midlands Railway trains running on the Birmingham New Street to Hereford line via Great Malvern and Malvern Link on any of the strike days.

The displacement of trains from industrial action will see morning services starting up later than usual on Tuesday and Thursday, with West Midlands Railway expecting trains on many of the routes to begin at 8am.

Passengers should delay their journeys if possible on mornings following industrial action to avoid busier services.

GWR services

On GWR services, there is set to be reduced service levels on the strike days.

Commuters and passengers are urged to check their individual journeys to ensure they have the right train times.
