AN ACTION-packed day of farmyard fun will flock to the Three Counties Showground tomorrow (Thursday) as the indoor Easter outing Countrytastic makes a return.

From 10am to 5pm, hundreds of visitors to Countrytastic will see a menagerie of farmyard animals including donkeys, goats, cows, rabbits, sheep, pigs and alpacas.

Children can learn how to care for these animals, along with plenty of stroking and grooming.

Throughout the day, there’s also the opportunity for them to get stuck in and get their hands dirty from bottle-feeding lambs, to cooking workshops and planting their very own mushroom log to take home.

BBC Countryfile and Cotswold Farm park favourite Adam Henson will be at the forefront of this year’s show once again with attendees getting the chance to hear his ‘Tales from the Bales’ in the Livestock Ring.

Children’s television star Tractor Ted will also be inviting budding farmers to climb aboard his enormous inflatable bouncy tractor at the heart of the show.

Ken Nottage, CEO of Three Counties, said: “Countrytastic is a real celebration for all the family.

“This is a show designed to engage the next generation in the fun of farmyard with an entire day devoted to family fun.”

Bredon School is sponsoring Countrytastic 2016, having been involved with the event since it launched in 2009.

As a school that is fortunate enough to have a working farm on campus, the school sees the daily benefits that active farming can bring to students.

Gemma Doyle of Bredon School said: “Understanding about agriculture and its role in this country is so important.

“Countrytastic gives us this platform to meet local families, share the work we do on our farm and show our animals.

“It’s really is an excellent event to be involved with and we’re delighted to be continuing our partnership.”

Tickets for Countrytastic cost £6 per person while children aged three and under are free.
