AN INQUEST has been opened into the death of a man who was found dead in the street near his home.
A member of the public called emergency services at 6.55am on Thursday (January 30) after discovering Gordon Hawker lying in Goodson Road.
The 58-year-old lived in Ranelagh Road close by.
A spokeswoman from West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed a rapid response vehicle and ambulance attended the scene and found that Mr Hawker had collapsed and was not breathing. They declared that he was dead on their arrival.
Police launched an investigation into the death but do not believe it was suspicious.
Yesterday (Wednesday) Worcestershire Coroners Service confirmed an inquest had been opened and adjourned while reports were being prepared.
