A LEADING Worcestershire estate agent has appointed an experienced manager to head the ongoing expansion of its lettings team.

James Gwynne has joined Nicol and Co after more than 10 years working in the sector, including the last three years managing the sales and lettings teams at Cobb Amos in Herefordshire.

Before that, he spent four years working his way up the ranks at Andrews Estate Agents in Cheltenham, and he previously worked for the former Town and Country Property Services.

Mr Gwynne will be working from Nicol and Co’s Droitwich headquarters and will manage a lettings team of four based there and in the company’s Worcester and Malvern offices.

Matt Nicol, managing director of Nicol and Co, said: “There is a range of new legislation and regulations coming through on the relationship between landlords and tenants, and James’ detailed knowledge of these changes will keep up one step ahead of the market.

“His appointment also reflects our ongoing confidence in the property market despite recent economic turbulence.”

Mr Gwynne, who is aged 30 and lives in Worcester with his wife and three children, said: “I’ve got a bit of a history with Nicol and Co as they have always been around and I was trained by a former staff member when I was first working in the property sector.

“I then met the team a few years ago when applying for a job as a sales negotiator, and while I was impressed I was told that my experience meant I would be better to apply again when they had a more senior and lettings related position.

“This left an imprint on my mind as a company I’d like to work for, and so when this opportunity came up I applied and am thrilled to have been appointed.
