WHILE they wait for theatres to open, the Colwall Players will be bringing their latest production to people’s screens.
The Players’ have risen to the challenge and produced a fully digital production of Caryl Churchill’s play Love and Information, which will be performed by a cast of 35 – a mix of professional performers, students, teachers, Colwall Players regulars and first-time actors.
Director Lee Farley said: “The entire cast had to embrace a new way of working, trying out new ideas about camera angles, framing, lighting and audio – working out new design and performance strategies from their own homes.”
“The play is built around a number of short scenes playing out as online conversations.”
Love and Information, first performed at The National Theatre in 2012, predicts and explores our emerging relationship with technology, and how it affects human interactions.
The Players say the themes and structure could almost have been created with a Zoom production in mind.
