THE WAIT was finally over for GCSE students across Malvern and the rest of the country today when they received their results and got to see if all their hard work had paid off.
Pupils discovered if they had got the grades they needed to move onto sixth-form, college, other training or employment.
These were the first exams held for three years because of the Covid-19 pandemic and the pass rate across the country, as predicted prior to results day, had fallen compared to last year but was higher than 2019.
Students at Dyson Perrins Academy achieved an excellent set of GCSE results, with an increased number of pupils achieving grades 9-7 in the Sciences, Maths, History, Food Technology and French compared to previous years.
Among the highest performing students was Molly Ballinger, who achieved three grade 9s along with one distinction* and six grade 8s.
Thomas Conein also had phenomenal results, achieving seven grade 9s along with three grade 8s, while Arthur Watkinson managed six grade 9s, two grade 8s and two grade 7s.
An Academy spokesperson said: “We are delighted with the magnificent achievements of all our students.
“They have faced many added pressures and uncertainties, but have proved that with dedication and resilience they can always be successful.
“They can now look back on their time at Dyson Perrins with pride and satisfaction.
“It has been lovely to celebrate with everyone, we wish them all the very best for the future and look forward to hearing of their continued successes.”
