A DOG stolen from Malvern yesterday has been found after a widespread social media appeal.

The French bulldog – Luna – was taken from Elgar Avenue after two men distracted the owner before picking up the pet and running off.

Extensive searches by the police and public were also carried out.

She was found on Friday in a hedge in Strensham, having been dumped, and was then reunited with her relieved owners.

Sgt Brian Simpkins, of West Mercia Police, said: “As you can imagine this was a very distressing 24 hours for the owner of Luna after she was taken during a walk.

“We cannot thank the community enough for pulling together to help us locate Luna by assisting us with searches and for also supporting her owner.”

He said officers were still trying to track down the two men responsible.

One was wearing blue shorts and the other as wearing a white top and baseball cap.

Witnesses or anyone with information or CCTV or dash cam footage of the area at the time should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
