IT WAS a full house for a Malvern woman who helped rake in almost £1,000 for a worthwhile cause.
Long-standing fund-raiser Joyce Teale took part in a bingo night at the Royal British Legion Club in Hanley Swan and collected £933.49 for Acorns Children’s Hospice.
It was part of the charity’s campaign, the Great Big Kids Party.
The 71-year-old has been raising funds for the Bath Road charity before a building was there and visited the hospice to hand over the amount.
Joyce said: “I have been helping to fund-raise for Acorns for a number of years now and it is a pleasure to be able to support such a good cause.
“The event was a great success and I was overwhelmed by the support on the night.”
Money will go towards helping the charity continue its vital work caring for life-limited and life-threatened children and young people and support for their families.
“Gemma Timmis, community fund-raising officer at Acorns, added: “The support from Joyce over the years has been fantastic and we are very grateful to her for organising the event and helping raise the money.
“It costs almost £9million every year for Acorns to continue and we rely on donations from the community for most of this amount.”
