A KIND-HEARTED Malvern boy has opened his own ‘apple shop’ at the end of his driveway to raise funds for Cancer Research.
Oscar Smith collects cooking apples from his garden and from his neighbours’ and grandmother’s trees and people make donations to the cause in return for the fruit.
This is the third year he has undertaken his annual fund-raiser and local residents support his efforts with their contributions.
Previously he has raised funds for charity in Tanzania his school had a link with and St Richard’s Hospice.
His grandad died of cancer last year which is why he chose this year’s cause.
Proud mum Charlotte said: “He has organised it all himself – making posters and putting them up in the street to direct people to his stall.
“He has also created flyers which he delivered around the neighbourhood.”
So far he has made £130 – £50 from apple sales and £80 from donations to the Cancer Research fund-raising page.
“The season is coming to an end so I think he’s got about one week left.”
People can email [email protected] if they want to buy apples or click here to donate via the fund-raising page.
