Learning to save a life this September

Malvern Editorial 20th Sep, 2015 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016   0

LIFE-saving demonstrations were on display in Malvern to raise the profile of an annual awareness month.

St John Ambulance has launched the Save a Life September campaign, where volunteers from the first aid charity held free events throughout Worcestershire.

And the team came to the Three Counties Showground last Wednesday (September 9) and Saturday (September 12) to show techniques which could be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.

As part of the scheme a comical video has also been released starring actor and comedian Rufus Hound.

Mr Hound said: “St John Ambulance is a tremendous organisation and working with them has been super fun.

“I am delighted to be supporting Save a Life September. Although the campaign video is funny, the message behind it is serious – it is never too late to learn how to save a life.”

Emma Elgerton, community training co-ordinator for St John Ambulance in the West Midlands, added: “First aid is for everyone and it is easy and fun to learn.

“We believe everyone should have first aid knowledge, and the more people that take part in Save a Life September, the higher the chance someone will be on hand to help when it is needed most.”
