A TALENTED Ledbury writer has spoken of his excitement ahead of his new action-packed novel hitting book shelves later this week.
Colin Butler’s new thriller Death By Drowning be available hit major bookshops and online retailers such as Amazon from Friday (February 28).
The book, published by Austin Macauley Publishers Ltd, is Mr Butler’s second title following his first publication The Practical Shakespeare in 2005.
Death by Drowning has been inspired by the author’s fascination of how terrorist attacks begin and tells the story of Colonel Ulrich Steffen who is galvanised back into action when an old friend dies and his widow laments the old regime of East Germany.
Ulrich gathers a trusted band of people from the old days and hatches a plot to draw attention to their cause – a terrorist attack in the south of England which could cost the lives of thousands of innocent people.
What follows is a tale full of twists and turns, death and mayhem with an unexpected conclusion.
Mr Butler told the Observer he was looking forward to see his work in print again after years of hard work.
“I’m really excited to see the book come out as it has taken several years to come together. The last few weeks I’ve been re-reading it several times to make sure there are no mistakes.
“It’s been quite a whirlwind in the last few weeks and me and the whole family are excited. I hope many people will pick it up, enjoy it and be inspired to write their own stories.”
