RESIDENTS fell silent in Ledbury this weekend to pay their respects to Armed Forces who lost their lives during wars past and present.

A Remembrance Sunday service held on the High Street on November 10 saw a procession to the memorial area led by town crier Bill Turburfield with Lady Darnley, Lord-Lieutenant of Herefordshire, MP Bill Wiggin and mayor Terry Widdows laying wreaths.

Representatives from organisations including the Rotary Club, Ledbury in Bloom, The Traders Association and John Masefield High School and Sixth Form College also laid wreaths as a mark of respect with members from the armed forces, police and fire service all taking part in the march.
