Leukaemia Care celebrating 'Junemas' with Malvern locals

Malvern Editorial 8th Jun, 2023   0

THOSE wishing for christmas to come early will have their dreams made a reality when a Malvern based charity hosts their ‘Junemas’ celebration later this month.

Leukaemia Care will be hosting their family fun day ‘Junemas’ event exactly 6 months before Christmas to raise funds to support families and their loved ones dealing with the cancerous disease.

Junemas will take place on June 25 at the Cob House Country Park in Wichenford, Worcestershire.

The celebrations will feature a 4km ‘Jingle Jog’ and a 2km ‘Turkey Toddle’ and children and their families will get to meet alpacas, goats, pigs, and chickens.

There’s also a park for the children and a café with refreshments to replenish attendees after the charity runs.

Leukaemia Care’s Junemas begins at 11am and all those taking part will also receive a santa hat at the start and a medal at the end of the run.

Matthew Denning, Leukaemia Care’s community and own events fundraiser said:“It really is snow joke; we’re delighted to host our inaugural ‘Junemas’ event in Worcestershire.

“It is different – snow in June, but we wanted to host an unusual event for the whole family to enjoy.

“Spruce your-elf up, enjoy the sun and snow and spend time with the family outside in beautiful parkland whilst raising money for Leukaemia Care.

“It’s a great Claus, and through these events, valuable funds are raised to help all those affected by leukaemia living in the UK.

“We’re sure it’ll be a popular day so register for your place now.

“We hope it won’t rein, but they’ll be lots of deer to meet.”

Leukaemia Care is the UK’s leading leukaemia charity, providing advice and support to the 10,000 people diagnosed with leukaemia each year.
