MALVERN Link railway station has officially received an award in recognition of the work carried out during the £500,000 revamp.

The station, which was renovated in 2014, was handed the accolade by Malvern Civic Society for the development, which was done by Worcestershire County Council.

It includes a booking office, toilet, extra car parking spaces and improved disabled access to platforms.

The award was given on Friday (July 10).

County councillor John Smith OBE, cabinet member for highways, said: “We are delighted to receive this award from the Malvern Civic Society in recognition of the work carried out on Malvern Link station.

“Of course, we are immensely grateful for the work of our partners, Buckingham Construction, Network Rail and the Rail Heritage Trust, for helping us to bring this project to completion.”
