FAMILIES with children eight and over can go along to a craft activity in Malvern to make a traditional besom broom.
This free, family-friendly fun will be taking place at Gardiner’s Quarry car park on Tuesday, April 11. The first session runs from 10am to 11.30am and the second is between 12pm and 1.30pm.
Gloves and tools, as well as the birch collected from Pinnacle Hill by volunteers to make the brooms, will be provided, but people are urged to bring their own secateurs if they want to.
This event helps to remove young birch and make room for grassland habitats and homes for ground nesting birds.
Those wanting to take part should email [email protected] to book places. Although the activity is free people are asked to consider bringing a small donation of £5 per broom which will go towards the conservation of the Malvern Hills and Commons.
