A MALVERN service which provides help for young people and adults with autism is celebrating after being shortlisted for a second prestigious award.

Options Malvern View, based at The Rhydd in Hanley Castle, has been shortlisted as a finalist at the HealthInvestor Awards 2017, alongside Options Bredon House, in Powick.

The service, which supports adults with a range of needs to live as independently as possible, has been successfully nominated in the Specialist Care Provider of the Year award category.

The HealthInvestor Awards programme promotes excellence and recognises innovation in the independent healthcare sector.

Earlier this year Options Malvern View, which is run by Options Autism, was also shortlisted for an award in the Autism Accreditation Excellence category at the NAS Professional Awards 2017.

Winners of the awards will be announced at a ceremony in London on Thursday, June 1.

Chris Mawby, registered manager at Options Malvern View, said everyone at the service was thrilled to be shortlisted.

“We had a very busy and exciting 2016, with the opening of the café and sensory garden, and so far we have had a brilliant start to 2017,” he added.

“We get some fantastic outcomes for the people we support, and this is largely down to the ethics and values of our entire staffing team.

“To be shortlisted for two national awards in such a short space of time is a fantastic achievement, and we are all very proud.”
