A MALVERN-based company was given the royal seal of approval earlier this week for winning a prestigious accolade.

Metrasens, a provider of magnetics detection technology, received their Queen’s Award for Enterprise from Deputy Lieutenant of Worcestershire, Andrew Grant, on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen on Wednesday.

The Enigma Business Park-based firm was announced winners of the Queen’s Award back in April for their performance in international trade.

Metrasens’ founders and employees, as well as about 25 guests, joined the Deputy Lieutenant for the ceremony.

Guests included the company’s investors, suppliers and partners.

In addition to a formal presentation of the award to Lawrence Kinet, chairman of Metrasens, the celebration marked the outstanding growth the company has seen over the last two years.

It has sold its detection products to more than 40 countries across the world.

Dr Simon Goodyear, co-founder and chief executive of Metrasens, said, “This award is testament to the hard work of the entire Metrasens team, in Malvern and around the world, who can be proud that the innovative products they have created are truly going towards making the world a safer place.”
