A MALVERN-based company was given the royal seal of approval for winning a prestigious accolade.
The Smart Actuator Company was presented with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise and Innovation by the Vice Lord-Lieutenant Honorable Lady Morrison.
Based on Spring Lane South, the family-owned business was given the award for its innovative thinking around energy efficiency and smart technology.
On presenting the award, Lady Morrison said: “I very much enjoyed being shown around the Smart Actuator Company and learning more about their innovative products.
“I can see immediately why this company has won The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation, and I may say against formidable competition from thousands of competing companies around the country.
“I was delighted to be able to present this Award today to such an inspiring family business.”
Tonya O’Donnell, marketing director at The Smart Actuator Company, added: “The recognition of the Queen’s Awards is a great achievement for the whole team.
“We would also like to thank our local Chamber of Commerce and LEP along with the British Valve & Actuator Association and Department for International Trade whose support has been invaluable to the success and growth of our business.”
