A MALVERN business which exports metal-detection technology across the globe was paid a special visit by their MP.
Harriett Baldwin went along to meet Metrasens’ senior management team and talk about how fast the company has been growing and its long term plans for future.
In the last year the company has grown 24 per cent and now has 44 employees in its Malvern HQ and US offices.
The firm supplies a world-class scanner which detects metal objects like mobile phones – preventing them from being used illegally in prisons and custody suites.
And, although the Home Office has only just approved them to be used in the UK, they are already being used in prisons across the US and other countries.
The technology is also used in hospitals to prevent people being harmed by metallic objects in MRI scanners.
Mrs Baldwin said: “The brilliant brains of Malvern are turning their inventions into world-class products with high-end manufacturing jobs here in the town.”
