Malvern Buzzards braving London marathon for good causes

Malvern Editorial 17th Apr, 2023   0

MALVERN Buzzards running club are taking their efforts national to run the London Marathon later this month.

11 members of the popular club are in the running for one of the most challenging marathons in the world on Sunday April, 23.

Various members will be racing for sponsored charities, hoping to raise funds for London Air Ambulance, Make A Wish, Bliss and LOOK UK.

Due to the notoriously difficult to enter race, members qualified through different means.

Runners Julie Slack, Julie Caseley and Adam Wilson managed a place via the “Good For Age” option.

Hannah Thompson gained a place through ballot entry. While Liz Crosswell and Sarah Cuddy earned themselves a spot via the club’s England Athletics’ associated places.

Other Malvern Buzzards’ running the London Marathon include Natasha Allcock, Gillian Lynes, Marc Soley, Martin Reed-Darby and Adam Dyson.

Sarah Cuddy said: “We are all so excited and looking forward to the challenge. Everyone has been training really hard through the winter and it is going to be such a memorable day.”
