A TOTAL of 23 of the Malvern Buzzards running club members ran the Worcester City 10K and a further 20 members took part in the Faithful City’s half-marathon.

In the top 50 in the 10K there were Buzzards Lewis Faulkner with a stellar time of 38mins and 28secs and Alan Southwick with an equally impressive time of 39mins and 13secs.

A lot more Buzzards flocked into the top 50 of the half-marathon with Adam Wilson taking sixth place with a time of 1 hour, 16mins and 37secs (less than ten minutes behind the first runner in) followed swiftly by Paul Childs a minute later, then Dave Lawrence, Carl Salmon, and Neil Warne.

Newest Buzzards member Tristan May said: “I was a bit nervous having never run a race before, but the Buzzards are a warm and welcoming bunch.

“I quickly took to the challenge surrounded by so many fellow Buzzards and eager runners in general.”

Race Captain, Sarah Cuddy has been using the Jeff Galloway technique known as ‘Jeffing’ and saw a fantastic time of 58mins, 44secs.

Sarah added: “The run/walk method works really well for me, and I was hoping for a sub-60, so I was very pleased with my performance.”

The club thanked Events of the North for hosting this race again this year and for the goodies galore from a race medal, to a race T-shirt and a canvas tote full of vitamin samples, hydration and food samples.
