Malvern cannabis grow had 'most dangerous electrics set-up ever seen'

OFFICERS from Malvern Police seized cannabis plants after raiding a property in Elgar Avenue.

The swoop by Malvern Safer Neighbourhood Team officers was made around midday yesterday.

The house had been converted into a large grow with varying ages of plants in different rooms of the address. There were 55 plants in the attic alone.

Western Power had to be called out to make the electrics safe after the electric meter had been bypassed. Western Power advised that the electrical bypass was one of the most dangerous that they had seen. They were amazed that no one had been hurt in carrying it out.

No one was located in the address but an investigation is ongoing, led by the Pickersleigh and Chase safer neighbourhood policing team.

Following the find, officers have urged anyone else who suspects cannabis is being grown in their area to call West Mercia Police on 101.
