Malvern care home hosts Easter Egg Hunt for local children

ELGAR COURT residential care home had children visit for a giant Easter egg hunt to celebrate the start of their school Easter holidays, writes Mia Whitehouse.

The residents at the care home, on St Andrews Road in Malvern, enjoyed joining in and watching the children hunt for the brightly coloured eggs hidden around the gardens.

If they found 12 eggs with an Easter bunny ticket inside they won their prize from a choice of chocolate eggs.

Jenny Fletcher, a resident at the care home, said: “It was wonderful to see everyone go to so much effort.

“I really enjoy the events the staff put on, and it’s been so lovely to spend time running around with the little ones, though like every Easter I think I’ve eaten too much chocolate.”

Another resident didn’t realise the egg hunt was on and tidied them away on his patio, which he laughed about and quickly hid again when he realised.

Sarah Cadwallader, General Manager, said: “We love having children visit our home and chat to residents.

“They are such a joy and we always welcome them at these seasonal celebration times throughout the year.

“Even the residents joined in and won an egg each too.”
